USAG Compulsory Class VI - Horizontal Bar

  Compulsory routines are broken up into parts. Parts may consist of a single or sequence of skills. Regardless of the amount of skills in the part each part is worth the same, 1.0 of the Base Score of the routine. If the part is missing or unrecognizable the gymnast receives a 1.0 deduction from his Base Score. If he completes more than 50% of the part he receives 0.5 a deduction from his Base Score.

1. From a hang or small preliminary swing in overgrip, cast forward and swing backward to 45° below horizontal maintaining a hollow body position

2. Swing forward

3. Kip to support with a spotter's assistance
  • Bonus - complete the Kip to support without a spotter's assistance +(0.2)

  (A pause and/or extra swing is allowed after the kip and before the the cast)

Cast to free hip circle backward (slight brushing of the bar is allowed)

5. Undershoot (underswing cast) maintaining a hollow body position

6. Swing backward to 45° below horizontal maintaining a hollow body position

7. Swing forward

8. Swing backward to horizontal

9. Swing forward with ½ turn to mixed grip and push against the bar then release the bar to dismount (45° below horizontal at the completion of the turn)
  • Bonus - #9 at horizontal at the completion of the turn +(0.2)
