USAG Compulsory Class VI - Floor Exercise

  Compulsory routines are broken up into parts. Parts may consist of a single or sequence of skills. Regardless of the amount of skills in the part each part is worth the same, 1.0 of the Base Score of the routine. If the part is missing or unrecognizable the gymnast receives a 1.0 deduction from his Base Score. If he completes more than 50% of the part he receives 0.5 a deduction from his Base Score.

1. Run and hurdle to front handspring

2. Step forward with either leg and kick to handstand then roll down with straight arms

3. Pike up (Stoop) to handstand

4. Pirouette forward 180°

5. Pike down to straight arm back extension roll then lower down to Pancake

6. Sit up facing A and close legs then rock back to Candlestick

7. Rock up to a straddle stand and press to handstand (straight arm)
  • Bonus - from Candlestick in # 6 Endo roll to handstand +(0.2)

8. Straight arm roll down and jump with feet together to a front headspring

9. Lift either leg while turning 90° to a cartwheel then side chassé and cartwheel

10. Side lunge to a side Scale (2 second hold) then with the lifted leg step forward at turn 270° bringing legs together and facing B

11. Run and hurdle to roundoff to back handspring with a rebound to stand
  • Bonus - execute two back handsprings instead of one +(0.2)

Class VI gymnasts may use either
of the two patterns shown below when
executing their Floor Exercise routine
