  Class V and VI special performance criteria:

1. On all leg cuts, cutting legs must be at least horizontal.

2. On all stride swings, false scissors, and scissors, the top leg must be at least horizontal.

3. All spindles must be initiated with support on right hand.


Class V Mushroom - Legs must maintain a 90° seperation on flaired circles

USAG Compulsory Class V - Pommel Horse and Mushroom

  Compulsory routines are broken up into parts. Parts may consist of a single or sequence of skills. Regardless of the amount of skills in the part each part is worth the same, 1.0 of the Base Score of the routine. If the part is missing or unrecognizable the gymnast receives a 1.0 deduction from his Base Score. If he completes more than 50% of the part he receives 0.5 a deduction from his Base Score.
  All Pommel Horse and Mushroom routines are written for clockwise circles.

Mushroom - Base Score of 4.6 (body stretched throughout routine)

Step to side and jump to 1 double leg circle

2. 1 double leg circle

3. 1 double leg circle

4.
Circle with 90° counter turn left to front support (¼ spindle)

5. Circle with 90° counter turn left to front support (¼ spindle)

6. 1 double leg circle to front support

7. 1 flaired circle to front support
  • Bonus - from # 7 - flaired circle with 90° - 180° counter turn left +(0.2)

8. 1 flaired circle to support

9. 1 double leg circle

10. ½ double leg circle with 90° turn right to dismount (flank dismount)

Pommel Horse - Base Score of 4.7

1. 1 forward loop circle (feet together when leaving the ground)
  • Bonus - from # 1 - 1 double leg circle to # 2 +(0.2)

2. ¾ loop circle to rear support with left hand on pommel

3. Cut right leg backward and cut left leg backward

4. Cut right leg forward to single leg travel to front support on pommels

5. Cut right leg forward to left false scissor

6. Cut right leg forward to left scissor

7. Right false scissor

8. Cut left leg forward to right scissor

9. Cut left leg forward, cut right leg backward, cut left leg forward

10. Right leg feint on right pommel, ½ circle with 90° inward turn to the left to stand facing longitudially (left hand may be in contact with the horse on landing)
