USAG Compulsory Class V - Floor Exercise

  Compulsory routines are broken up into parts. Parts may consist of a single or sequence of skills. Regardless of the amount of skills in the part each part is worth the same, 1.0 of the Base Score of the routine. If the part is missing or unrecognizable the gymnast receives a 1.0 deduction from his Base Score. If he completes more than 50% of the part he receives 0.5 a deduction from his Base Score.

1. Run and hurdle to roundoff to back handspring

2. Back flip tucked (salto at head height)

3. Step back with either leg and turn 180° to Swedish fall

4. Bring the lifted leg down and turn 180° to a forward split (2 second hold)

5. Bring legs together facing A and rock back to Candlestick

6. Rock up to a straddle stand and press to handstand (straight arm)
  • Bonus - from Candlestick in # 5 Endo roll to handstand +(0.2)

7. Step down and turn 45° to stand. Run and jump to front flip tucked (salto at shoulder height) with a controlled landing

8. Forward roll to stand and step with either leg to a hitch kick then step to a forward lunge. Slide back leg towards front leg while turning 135° to face B

9. Run and hurdle to front handspring and bounder (flyspring) to rebound to stand
  • Bonus - Replace # 9 with - Run and hurdle to front handspring step-out to front handspring to bounder and rebound to stand +(0.2)

10. Step forward with either leg and chassé forward then forward lunge to a front scale (2 second hold). Step forward with raised leg and slide back leg towards front leg while turning 180°

11. Run and hurdle to roundoff to back handspring to back handspring and rebound to stand

Class V gymnasts may use either
of the two patterns below when
executing their Floor Exercise routine
